Latino Institute Marks First Decade at Notre Dame

The University of Notre Dame’s Institute for Latino Studies will celebrate its 10th anniversary with several events, including an academic symposium titled “Latino Studies: Past, Present and Future” from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 16) in the McKenna Hall auditorium. Rev. Virgilio Elizondo, professor of pastoral and Hispanic theology at Notre Dame, will deliver the keynote address at 11:45 a.m. and Rev. Daniel Groody, C.S.C., assistant professor of theology, will serve as moderator for the day. Also speaking at the event will be Gilberto Cárdenas, ILS director, assistant provost and Julian Samora Professor of Latino Studies; and Allert Brown-Gort, ILS associate director. READ FULL STORY
